i always have trouble leaving comments on reddit or sending text messages because i keep going back to what people think if they read it all day. sometimes i just delete them because i don't think it's perfect. does anyone else have that problem? how do you deal with it?

i dont think you should take comments on the internet too seriously. idk if past experiences, you've dealt with cyber bullying via hate comments online or maybe you're just a perfectionist. but one way to deal with this type of obsession is to know that you're not alone. i personally sometimes make a lot of grammar mistakes or i say something stupid online. i just laugh it off or i edit the comment to make it understandable. just like this comment, i'm sometimes self-conscious that i might be making my reply so long that it looks like a paragraph. you have to remember though, at the end of the day, the reason why you're leaving a comment is for people to read them and react to them. there will always be people who react negatively, dont let it get to ya~ good luck ;3

i think this is a big part of anxiety for me personally, i tend to draft my long texts in my notes (iphone) before sending them. deleting my social media has really helped me feel more confident when i do browse reddit/visit this site. but it's so easy to over analyze. i sometimes try to have a conversations in my head with what i'm replying to, to see if my reply sounds natural

for sure. what i found helps is treating your inner dialogue as just more noise. that way you process it the same way you would sound outside your head and you can be neutral about it.
